Course Descriptions

• Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) - 7 or more lessons covering small boat handling, basic navigation, radio, weather and safety with emphasis toward power boat operators.

• Sailing and Seamanship (S&S) - A 14 lesson course similar to the BS&S course but with emphasis toward sailboat operators.

• Basic Coastal Navigation (BCN) - Covers marine charts, aids to navigation, course plotting, tides, currents, navigation problems and common navigation tools.

• Advanced Coastal Navigation (ACN) - Similar to (BCN) above but covers more subjects.

• Personal Water Craft (PWC) - A short course covering personal water craft.

• Boating Safely (BSC) - A short four lesson course on boating safety.

• Navigating with GPS (GPS) - A basic course on global positioning system (GPS) electronic navigation.
